OUR BACKGROUND
Yamba ChildCare (YCC) is a registered Non-profit Organization supporting Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) in rural Uganda. The name “Yamba” – is a local language word which means, to help out, assist or aid, lend a hand, facilitate, or rally round. Yamba started out of scratch from a one-person seat school canteen room as its main office.
In 2014, Keneth Ndyamuhaki did a research study on “The impact of household income on the provision of Children’s basic needs”. The research findings demonstrated that children were in critical lack of essential basic needs of life and in dire need of help. Read More here!
OUR GOALS & OBJECTIVES

To provide basic needs of life to Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) such as food, clothing, and basic shelter, healthcare among others.
- To enable Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) to access both formal and informal education through supporting them in schools and vocational institutions of learning respectively.

To empower families and communities to provide protection, care, and support for orphans and other vulnerable children.
